WHAT IS PHOTOGRAPHY?

Photography is the art and process of capturing images with the use of a camera or other light-sensitive devices. The word "photography" comes from the Greek words "photos," meaning light, and "graphos," meaning to write. It involves using a camera to capture an image of a subject, which is then stored on a film or digital sensor.

Photography is used for various purposes, including artistic expression, documentation, advertising, and scientific research. It has become an essential part of our lives, with the proliferation of smartphones that have cameras and the rise of social media platforms where photos are widely shared and consumed.

Photography can be further divided into various genres, including portrait photography, landscape photography, wildlife photography, fashion photography, and street photography, among others. Each genre has its unique approach and techniques, and photographers often specialize in one or more genres.

The art of photography requires not just technical skills but also creativity, imagination, and a keen eye for detail. It involves the use of light, composition, color, and various other elements to create a visually compelling image that tells a story or captures a moment in time.
